High Flow Fuel Pressure Sensor Assembly
The Pro-M EFI High Flow Fuel Pressure Sensor assembly references both fuel rail pressure and manifold vacuum. This allows the sensor to report a value knows as PSID, rather than just fuel rail pressure in PSI. This is important because fuel rail pressure has no meaning in engine management. What really matters is the differential pressure across the fuel injectors. The differential pressure is the difference in pressure between the fuel rails and in the pressure (or vacuum) in the intake manifold. This is the pressure that actually affects the fuel injector flow rate.
When the Pro-M EFI PCM has a value for PSID, it can use this value to adjust the pulse width sent to the fuel injectors to compensate for variances in the PSID. This allows for more precise fuel control and tighter fuel trim corrections. It also allows the Pro-M EFI PCM to illuminate the Check Engine light should the fuel pressure fall outside of an acceptable range.
The Pro-M EFI High Flow Fuel Pressure Sensor assembly has -10 ORB ports, and will outflow a -10 line, allowing it to be installed in the fuel feed line, without restricting fuel flow. There are four mounting holes that can be used to securely mount the assembly to the vehicle.
